Two men residing in Stoke have been sentenced for their involvement in a county lines drug operation.

Omet Fazily and Hanif Walizada appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday 13 October where they were sentenced.

Fazily, 26, of Barrett Drive, Stoke, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin, four counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine, cocaine, heroin), and two counts of possessing criminal property.

He was sentenced to four years and one month in prison.

Walizada, 21, of Barrett Drive, Stoke, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine).

He was sentenced to 35 months in prison suspended for two years.

The court heard how officers from Crewe Proactive CID executed a warrant at Fazily's address in April 2025 after receiving intelligence from Staffordshire Police that he was controlling the 'Afghan' county line, which was supplying heroin and crack cocaine into Cheshire.

As officers attempted to enter the address, two packages were thrown from an upstairs window into a neighbouring garden.

They were recovered by officers at the scene and later found to contain illegal drugs.

A subsequent search of the property uncovered several additional packages containing white and brown powder.

Officers also searched two vehicles parked at the address, which were found to contain wraps of crack cocaine and heroin.

The drugs recovered from the address are estimated to have a street value of up to £20,420.

Officers also recovered mobile phones containing messages advertising the sale of Class A drugs, further linking the pair to the county line.

Detective Constable Jamie Roberts said: "Fazily and Walizada had established a sophisticated county line operation that saw significant quantities of Class A drugs brought into Cheshire for distribution.

"They believed they could evade detection by running their drug supply network from the comfort of their home in Stoke, profiting while communities across Cheshire suffered the consequences.

"They were sorely mistaken.

"The team at Crewe Proactive CID works tirelessly to disrupt county lines and protect vulnerable people from the harm caused by illegal drugs, and Fazily and Walizada were no exception.

"I hope this result reassures residents and local communities of our commitment to tackling drug-related crime. I also hope the sentences handed down in this case serve as a warning to others involved in the supply of illegal drugs that they, too, will be brought to justice."
