Two people have been arrested after two people suffered dog bite injuries in Stoke-on-Trent.

Staffordshire Police arrested a 37-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, both of Stoke-on-Trent, on suspicion of being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

The police were called shortly before 6pm yesterday (Monday 2 February) to Macdonald Crescent in Meir.

Three dogs were involved in the incident in which one man suffered serious injuries and another victim, a woman, suffered a significant bite injury.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Both victims made their way to hospital independently for treatment.

"Officers assisted in securing the animals, which have since been removed from the property."

The two people who were arrested remain in police custody while inquiries continue.

Officers are carrying out door-to-door inquiries and urge anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to get in touch.
