Two people have been arrested after police uncovered around £1,000 in cash and an estimated 40 deals of heroin and crack cocaine in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers searched two people in Bentilee, leading to the discovery.

A 47-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.

A 43-year-old woman, also from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply heroin, crack cocaine, and possessing criminal property.

Since Staffordshire Police launched a clampdown on serious and organised crime in May last year, more than 1,000 suspects have been arrested for drug and weapon offences across Staffordshire.
