Three people arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Burslem have been bailed and circumstances remain "unexplained," Staffordshire Police has said.

Paramedics and police were called to a property on Bank Hall Road at 8.20am on Sunday 9 February following "concerns for the welfare of a woman" where a woman in her 40s was later pronounced dead.

A woman aged 30 and two men aged 30 and 38 who were arrested on Sunday in connection with the death have now been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.

An update from Staffordshire Police said: "The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Her family is being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.

"A woman aged 30, a man aged 30 and another man aged 38, all from Stoke-on-Trent, have been placed on conditional police bail while our investigation continues.

"Officers have since left the scene but will be carrying out patrols in the local area to reassure the local community. "

The police have previously urged members of the public to speculate about the death on social media as investigations continue.

Officers are appealing to anyone with relevant information, dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 162 of 9 February or report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
