Three arrests following 'serious assault' in Stoke-on-Trent

Three people have been arrested following a "serious assault" in Stoke-on-Trent.

Following a report of a fight, officers were called to Werrington Road in Bucknall, outside The Traveller's Rest, at about 4.05pm on Monday 15 June.

Staffordshire Police said one man, who was lying on the floor, had reportedly been assaulted by two men and a woman.

The suspects then got into a car and left the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

On Friday (19 June), Staffordshire Police arrested three people in connection with the incident.

A 22-year-old man a 23-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – wounding with intent.

A 23-year-old man, also from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of wound / inflict grievous bodily harm with intent.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "All three were questioned in custody and bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.
