Teenager arrested after man 'stabbed in the cheek' in Stoke-on-Trent

A teenager has been arrested after a man was stabbed in Stoke-on-Trent on Wednesday (23 October).

Emergency services were called at 4.30pm to reports that a man had been stabbed in the cheek at Texaco petrol station on Hanley Road, Sneyd Green.

The victim was taken to hospital.

Witnesses say that the victim was stabbed by a man in a white VW Polo in the area opposite the petrol station, but went inside for help.

An 18-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent and robbery. He has been released on conditional bail as police continue to investigate.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time.

"Anyone with any information or relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage is asked to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 467 of 23 October.

"To report anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
