Live music events featuring local artists are set to take place at a popular restaurant in Stoke Town thanks to government funding.

The Quarter - which is based at Spode - will be hosting around 40 'Outdoor Live' events which will all be free to attend and will take place on Friday and Saturday evenings starting in May.

Award-winning solo artist Jo Safina will kick-start the music feast on Friday 2 May, with the likes of singer and guitarist Ben Botfield, and acoustic electric duo Glow Band featuring in the four-month extravaganza.

The summer Outdoor Live events - running from May to August - have received funding from the Stoke High Street Accelerator pilot, which is funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

Co-owner of the Quarter, Annemarie Bailey, said: "We are thrilled to be able to put on free events for Outdoor Live for 2025."

"What's great about the live music events is, the artists who will be performing are all from the local area and it's amazing to be able to support them by giving them a stage to perform right in the heart of Stoke Town.

"Also, with huge thanks to the funding support from the Stoke HSA project we are able to put on these events free for the public - although bookings are required and seating is on a first come first served basis."

As well as Outdoor Live, funding from the Stoke HSA pilot, is also supporting the Quarter with a separate music event.

'Stoke Town Music Festival' is set to take place during the Bank Holiday weekend in August, from 29 - 31.

Annemarie adds: "Stoke Town Music Festival is going to be something else and we will be looking to collaborate with other businesses in the town for this - we cannot wait."

"Again this will be a free to attend event where we will be helping to showcase the whole of Stoke Town as much as we can."

The Stoke HSA is part of the £500,000 Greenspace Funding awarded to Stoke-on-Trent City Council to enable Accelerator partnerships to deliver projects to improve green spaces and parklets around Stoke Town Centres high street.

This was awarded by MHCLG and to date 14 projects have been approved through the Greenspace funding in Stoke Town.
