A stretch of the A50 in Stoke-on-Trent is closed 'due to a vehicle fire'.
The A50 eastbound near Meir, between the slip roads at the Catchems Corner roundabout (A521) is currently closed.
National Highways explained that there are delays of 1.6 miles on the approach.
National Highways said: "Traffic is to come off onto the exit slip and re-join onto the entry slip."
The closure is "due to a vehicle fire" and emergency services attended the scene.
National Highways added: "The A50 eastbound near Meir remains closed between the slip roads at Catchems Corner (A521) roundabout.
"The vehicle fire has resulted in an oil spill and damaged the carriageway.
"Up and over is still in place".
