Unitas, the award-winning repairs and maintenance company for Stoke-on-Trent City Council, has raised a whopping £8,100 for Cancer Research.

This money has been raised through a number of fundraising efforts over the past 15 months.

Unitas will continue to support Cancer Research until March 2023, when a new charity will be chosen for the next year's fundraising.

Unitas have a great social responsibility; they always ensure to pay back by linking with community groups and helping wherever they can.

The money is also always kept local within Stoke-on-Trent.

A number of contractors took part in the Potters 'Arf to raise money for Cancer Research (Unitas).

Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator, Rachel Forster, said: "We're always doing something for somebody - where we can help we really do like to help.

"As a company we want to be very giving and our contractors are of the same ilk, they want to give back and make a difference."

Cancer Research was chosen as Unitas' chosen charity for the year by staff who were given a list of ten potential charities to support.

Rachel said: "Lots of staff members have had family members or friends suffer with cancer so it's a charity that hits people's hearts so that's the main motivation - it's a charity that people really wanted to support."
