A 52-year-old man has been jailed for four-and-a-half years after he admitted raping a woman in Stoke-on-Trent.
John Williams, 52, from Blurton, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court yesterday (Thursday 3 September).
It comes after he pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to raping a woman aged 16 or over.
DC Jessica Ness, from the Staffordshire Police rape and serious sexual offences unit, said: "We're determined to act against those responsible for sexual offences in Staffordshire and to support survivors.
"The survivor in this case has shown tremendous bravery in coming forward and telling us about what happened."
Staffordshire Police said the incident happened inside a house in 2021.
Afterwards, the survivor contacted the police and told officers about what had happened.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We went on to secure all the evidence needed to charge Williams with rape."
