Staffordshire Women’s Aid to host candlelit vigil to remember women who have lost their lives due to domestic violence

A local charity will hold a candlelit vigil to mark The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls.
The event, hosted by Staffordshire Women's Aid, will take place on Wednesday 25 November at 4:30pm in Market Square in Stafford.
The charity, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, will pay tribute to women who have lost their lives as a result of domestic violence.
Each week, an average of two women are killed by male violence in the UK.
Staffordshire Women's Aid said: "We will read aloud the names of women killed by male violence in the UK over the past year, followed by a minute's silence to remember and honour them.
"Behind every statistic is a woman who was loved, valued and mattered.
"Please bring a candle if you are able and join us as we stand together to say no more to violence against women and girls."
