Staffordshire Police are investigating after a man was found with serious injuries on Christmas Day in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers were flagged down on Saturday 27 December by a man who reported the incident.
Staffordshire Police was told that a local man, in his 60s, was found injured and unresponsive in the road on Chestbrook Road, Abbey Hulton, at about 3.45am on Christmas Day (Thursday 25 December).
He is believed to have left the Abbey Hulton Sports and Social Club on Abbots Road at about 10.30pm on Christmas Eve (Wednesday 24 December).
After being found in the road by a passer-by, the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains.
Staffordshire Police said: "An investigation has been launched to find out the circumstances around the man's injuries.
"Detectives have been looking over CCTV from the area at the time and speaking to witnesses as part of our initial enquiries.
"We're keen to speak to anyone with any information that can help us find out the circumstances surrounding the man's injuries, especially those with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time."
