Staffordshire drug gang jailed collectively for 48 years

A gang believed to have supplied more than 30-kilograms of cocaine and heroin in Staffordshire have been jailed collectively for 48 years. 

Staffordshire Police officers recovered more than one kilogram of drugs after searching homes associated with the gang in Hanley and Etruria in 2021 and 2022. 

Now, the gang have been jailed for 48 years following their appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday 12 December: 

  • Abu Iqbal, 23, of HMP Dovegate, pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug (cocaine and heroin) and was jailed for 12 years. Staffordshire Police said he had a leading role in the drug operation. 
  • Kyle Pattinson, 24, of HMP Dovegate, admitted the same offences and was jailed for nine-years-and-four-months. Staffordshire Police said he weighed the drugs, loaded the street dealers and collected cash. 
  • Amin Mamon, 37, of Norton, Stoke-on-Trentwas found guilty following an earlier trial of the same offences. He played a significant role in the drug operation and was sentenced to ten years 
  • Nadeen Mehmood, 36, of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, pleaded guilty to the same offences. He also played a significant role and was sentenced to eight-years-and-six-months.
  • Jamie Dale, 23, of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, admitted the same offences. He played significant role and was jailed for six years.
  • Joshua Knapper, 21, of Middleport, Stoke-on-Trent, was found guilty of the same offence, as well as being concerned in the supply of a class B drug – cannabis. He was jailed for three years.
  • Keiron Tonks, 20, of Middleport, Stoke-on-Trent, admitted the same offences. He had a lesser role in the operation and was sentenced to 16-months, suspended for 18-months. 

Staffordshire Police said: "We are determined to work proactively in Staffordshire to disrupt serious and organised criminal networks like this one from operating in our local communities."
