A man, from Stafford, has been convicted of driving offences after being stopped by officers in Stoke-on-Trent.

On Tuesday (2 June), Lesley James Smith, aged 35, appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre where he admitted to driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

This comes after officers from the Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team stopped a vehicle travelling from Stafford to Shelton in Stoke-on-Trent at around 5pm on Monday (1 June).

Smith was remanded into custody ahead of sentencing due to take place on Thursday 30 June at Cannock Magistrates' Court.
