The weekend is right around the corner and there is plenty to get up to this weekend including Lymelight Festival, a book trail and more.

Lymelight Festival | Newcastle town centre | 23-25 May

Lymelight Festival returns to Newcastle town centre this weekend - with the excitement kicking off on Friday.

You can join the festivities in local venues, The Crossways, The Rigger and Artisan Tap (there may be a cost for specific acts) with local up-and-coming artists from across Staffordshire.

As well, 30+ acts will be playing across two outdoor stages, The Guildhall Stage is located on High Street (The Guildhall/Boots area), Ironmarket Stage located on the Ironmaket (outside Cappello Lounge), providing a weekend of free, live music for people of all ages to enjoy.

Castle Artisan Market will join the festivities with the best makers, bakers and creators from the area on both Saturday and Sunday and there will also be the Cannonball Record Fair on Sunday.

Animal Book Trail | Middleport Pottery | Sat 24 May - 1 Jun

Explore Middleport Pottery and discover all the animal-themed books around the site.

Answer the questions in your booklet then return to reception to get your treat! No additional site admission fee and tickets for the trail are £3.

The trail is running daily 10am-3pm.

Free Let's Walk | Etruria Industrial Museum | Sat 24 May 11am

Enjoy an opportunity to connect with the plants growing along the water's edge and to learn about the Staffordshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy.

Whether you are interested in walking, nature or simply joining a friendly activity with others in your neighbourhood, you are very welcome to enjoy this walk together.

Anna will share the works created for the Canalside Arcana project, and you will have an opportunity to pick up your own set of Canalside Arcana Cards in order to be able to lead your own walks in the future.

Meet outside the Etruria Industrial Museum for a walk to Hanley Park and back. The walk will begin and end at the Industrial Museum and will include a herbal tea and a teacake.

Etruria Canals Festival | Etruria Industrial Museum | Sat 31 May - Sun 1 Jun

Etruria Canals Festival returns in 2025 on Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June, open 11am-5pm each day.

Alongside the historic narrowboat gathering there will be a range of family friendly workshops, arts and heritage activities, performances, craft stalls and exhibitors, beer tent and street food.

As usual the festivities will take place on the site of Etruria Industrial Museum (Kiln Down Close, Stoke-On-Trent, ST1 4RB) at the junction of the Trent and Mersey and Caldon Canals.
