Six teenagers arrested following stabbing in Meir last week

Six boys have been arrested after a teenage boy was stabbed in Meir last week.

Staffordshire Police were called to an address off Sandon Road just after 6.20pm on Thursday (19 January).

The victim, a 15-year-old boy, sustained facial and leg injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. 

He remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition. 

Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service all attended the scene on Thursday evening (Staffordshire Police).

A 16-year-old, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating. 

Another 16-year-old, two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old, all from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. 

A 17-year-old, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

All six remain in custody and inquiries are ongoing. 

Staffordshire Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to contact them on Facebook, Twitter, or call 101, quoting incident number 644 of 19 January.
