Roadworks have been announced for a Stoke-on-Trent junction which has been at the centre of a number of incidents in recent years.
There will be disruption at the Milton Road and Hanley Road junction in Sneyd Green as traffic lights are installed while an "underground survey" is conducted by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
Temporary traffic management will be in place from Monday (3 November) to Wednesday (5 November), between 9:30am and 3pm.
A spokesperson for Stoke-on-Trent City Council said: "The surveys will help the council better understand what utilities infrastructure is present beneath the surface, which is an important first step in exploring ways to improve the safety and operation of the junction.
"The council is aware of other ongoing works in the area and will coordinate activities wherever possible to minimise disruption."
The survey will take place alongside several other ongoing roadworks in the surrounding area conducted by Severn Trent Water.
Cllr Finlay Gordon-McCusker, cabinet member for transport, infrastructure and regeneration, said: "We know this junction has been the site of several incidents over recent years, and we're looking carefully at what improvements could be made, subject to future funding.
"The survey work is the first step - helping us understand what's underground so we can design any future scheme in a way that minimises diversions and disruption.
"We'd like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience and understanding while these essential surveys are carried out.
"We know how frustrating the disruption is for residents and commuters, we are working at pace to complete the works as quickly as possible."
