Police respond to reports of a stabbing in Stoke-on-Trent

Staffordshire Police responded to reports that a man had been stabbed in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday (Thursday 23 July).

Last night (23 July), the police force said they were dealing with a "serious assault" on Ridgway Road in Shelton.

Officers were called to Ridgway Road, at 7.40pm yesterday (23 July) following reports that a man had been stabbed.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Officers are in attendance along with colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

"We ask that members of the public please do not circulate footage of the scene on social media."

Staffordshire Police has asked anyone with information to contact them by calling 101, or via Live Chat on the website, quoting incident number 747 of 23 July.
