Police launch review after video showing two officers in Stoke-on-Trent 'asleep' appears online

Staffordshire Police has confirmed it is conducting a review after a video circulated on social media showing two officers who appeared to be asleep.

The video of a stationary unmarked vehicle near a roundabout on City Road in Fenton appeared to show two officers asleep in the two front seats with the car lights and dashboard illuminated. 

Now Staffordshire Police has confirmed the Professional Standards Department is conducting a full review.  

In a statement Staffordshire Police said: "We're aware of a video on social media involving two police officers inside a car in the early hours in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.

"Our Professional Standards Department (PSD) is aware of the incident and they are conducting a full review of the circumstances."

The video was posted on Facebook in the early hours of Monday morning with the caption "sat at a junction in Fenton KFC.. asleep behind the wheel".
