Two police dogs pounced into action to help arrest suspected burglars in two Stoke-on-Trent buildings.

Police were called on 17 August to an empty business on Newcastle Street, Burslem, after a man in dark clothing had been seen climbing through a window.

PD Bones and his handler attended the scene and sniffed out two people inside who were each wanted on warrants.

A 36-year-old woman from Stoke-on-Trent and a 32-year-old man from Blythe Bridge were each arrested on suspicion of business burglary with intent to steal, being found in an enclosed premises and failure to appear in court following bail.

PD Bones and PD Tiger played a vital part in catching the suspected thieves (Staffordshire Police).

Then, the so-called 'old Natwest building' on High Street, Tunstall, was targeted by alleged thieves at around 8.45pm on Sunday (18 August).

Local officers and PD Tiger attended the scene where one of the suspects was sniffed out. The other suspect was detained nearby a short time later.

A 39-year-old man and a 42-year-old man, both of no-fixed-address, were each arrested on suspicion of business burglary and going equipped for burglary. They have since been released while inquiries continue.

Police would like to reunite these stolen watches with their owners (Staffordshire Police).

Police also recovered two stolen watches from one of the men and would like to reunite them with their owners.

If you recognise the watches, contact Longton Police Station or call 101 quoting incident number 703 of 18 August.
