Plans have been put forward to build 14 brand-new bungalows on a vacant former school site in Stoke-on-Trent.

Marychurch C of E Primary School, on Piggott Grove in Bucknall, closed in June 2004 and was demolished in 2022.

Now, Mr Stephen Beaumont of D B Developments has applied for permission from Stoke-on-Trent City Council to build 14 detached bungalows on the 8,155 square meter site.

Eight of the houses would be two-bedroom and the remaining six would be three-bedroom.

With regard to access, the planning statement says: "Vehicular access to the site is to be taken via a new access connecting with Marychurch Road, at the north east corner of the site.

"The access will serve all of the proposed dwellings and will provide an adequate means of turning space to enable residents, visitors and service vehicles to exit the site."

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months.
