Plans have been submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council to convert a former factory in the city into two brand-new flats.

Sutherland Works, on Normacot Road in Longton, manufactured porcelain up to 2017 but production has since ceased.

Mr William Smith, of Barnstaple Estate Properties Ltd, plans to refurbish the existing ground and first floor to provide "modern commercial and residential accommodation" over the two floors with the residential most concentrated on the northern elevation fronting Normacot Road.

A property developer has applied for permission to transform the former factory into two brand-new flats (Barnstaple Estate Properties Ltd).

The plans intended to restore and maintain the original Victorian windows and detail at the front of the building.

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months.
