Plans for a brand-new takeaway and dessert shop in Stoke-on-Trent have been approved by the local council.

Ms Yousefikhah applied for the "change of use to hot food takeaway including desserts with installation of extraction system to rear elevation" at 139 Ford Green Road in September 2024.

A Planning Statement reveals that the new business would sell "a variety of smash burgers and oven baked foods such as pizza, wedges etc. alongside complimentary desserts consisting of milkshakes, cakes etc.

"The site sits within a parade of shops and food outlets along Ford Green Road and is within a sustainable location".

These plans were approved on 30 January despite a number of objections being raised by neighbours.

For example, one comment on the application reads: "There are enough takeaways on Ford Green Road already, the delivery drivers already speed up and down [...] with no thought for residents walking, people walking their dogs, disabled people and treating it as their own car park."

In response, the Officer's Report says: "Of the concerns raised the issues relating to the number of takeaways in the location is not considered to be supported.

"Whilst there are a number of hot food takeaways locally, the site is part of a designed local centre and many of the units are occupied by a variety of other uses. It is not considered that there would be an over-concentration of hot food takeaways in this location".

The eatery will employ three members of staff and operate between 4.30pm and 11pm seven days a week.
