A petition has been launched for a new pedestrian crossing on a busy junction in Stoke-on-Trent, following a fatal accident in December 2023.

Pedestrian crossing facilities are proposed at the junction in Weston Coyney where Parkhall Road and Caverswall Road meet Weston Road.

Started by Craig Royce, the petition has gained over 800 signatures in just over three weeks.

The petition has over 800 signatures in three weeks (Nub News).

Craig told Nub News: "I'm petitioning to get the cross roads by Bargain Booze in Weston Coyney a pedestrianised crossing via a four-way push button system.

"I have already met with Allison Gardener who is fully supporting my petition and will help in any way possible and I have another meeting with Jack Brereton MP this week.

"If I can get to 1,000 signatures it will go to full council debate, which I will then be invited to do a four-minute presentation regarding the petition.

"Obviously the more support I have the better, plus this junction really needs looking at, it's only a time before this happens again."
