Pedestrian dies after being hit by a car in Stoke-on-Trent city centre

Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses after an 80-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car in Stoke-on-Trent city centre.
Officers were called at 11.26am on Saturday (28 March) to reports of a "serious collision" involving a pedestrian and a red Seat Leon on Meigh Street, at the junction of Burton Place, Hanley.
The pedestrian, an 80-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Sadly, he passed away in hospital."
They added: "His family are being supported by specialist officers."
Staffordshire Police has urged anyone who was in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators to get in contact with them.
The collision occurred at 11:23am on that day.
