A restaurant in Stockton Brook is closed for a refurbishment which will bring a new look and extra seating.

Ego at The Hollybush, on Stanley Road, will reopen its doors on Friday 1 August following the "major transformation project" which includes a refreshed look and expanded bar.

The bar will seat an extra 30 people after the refurbishment and the expansion of the restaurant's orangery, due for completion in the autumn, will seat a further 55 covers.

Ego says the nearly four weeks of work to expand the restaurant and bar will create 12 new jobs with more anticipated after the reopening.

General manager Ross Campion, said: "We've been working hard to transform our existing space into a Mediterranean haven where guests will feel like they're on holiday — without leaving Staffordshire.

"The changes that are currently underway are all centred around creating an environment that is rooted in warmth, generosity and bold flavours.

"The whole team and I are thrilled to welcome everyone in Stockton Brook to escape to the Mediterranean at Ego at The Hollybush."

Located in a restored early 1900s pub, Ego serves up Mediterranean-inspired food including paella, chargrilled kebabs, steak and pizza.

The renovation will also see the introduction of Madri, Aspall and Beavertown Neck Oil on draft.

In 2023 pub chain Mitchell and Butlers took out a 100% stake in the Ego brand, which now has 32 restaurants in England and Wales.

Ego at The Hollybush is set to reopen on 1 August 2025.
