A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in Stoke-on-Trent.

Sarah-Louise Pennington, 24, from Stoke-on-Trent, was found dead after officers were called to an address at Oakwell Court, Longton, at around 3.30am on Sunday (12 July).

Staffordshire Police has confirmed Kyle Pala, 30, of Longton, who is described as white British, has been charged with murder.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Our scene enquiries in the area are continuing but we are working to minimise the disruption to local residents.

"We'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while officers have been working hard in the area over the last few days."

Kyle Pala remains in custody and is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Wednesday 15 July).
