Much-loved greenspace in Stoke-on-Trent to be sold at auction this March
An area of much-loved, well-used greenspace in Stoke-on-Trent will be sold at auction on Monday 3 March.
The land, known locally as Teletubby Hills, was last listed for sale in September 2023 and this prompted hundreds of objections from neighbours.
Local resident and dog walker Susan Bateman said at the time she was not impressed and says she uses the site everyday and it is well used by the community.
She said: "I'm not impressed with it, this is the only greenspace around here. Everyone uses it from all around the estate. Loads of people objected to the plans last time, there are places around here which have got planning permission and they are just left, why should we lose this green space."
Now, the land has been listed by Butters John Bee with a guide price of £300,000.
Butters John Bee note that the current planning permission allows for nine houses to be built on the site however there could be the opportunity to increase this number to 14 houses.
The online listing describes the site has a "parcel of undeveloped land within a wholly residential area".
