Motorcyclist dies following crash in Staffordshire Moorlands

Staffordshire Police is appealing for information after a motorcyclist died following a crash near Leek.

Officers were called at 9.45am on Sunday (26 April), to Leek Road in Blake Mere near to the Mermaid Inn, by West Midlands Ambulance Service following reports of a crash.

Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended alongside Staffordshire Police officers.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Sadly, the motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

"His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have relevant dashcam footage."

Staffordshire Police has urged anyone with information to call them on 101 quoting incident number 217 of 26 April or email collision investigators directly at [email protected].
