Man taken to hospital following house fire in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been taken to hospital for treatment following a house fire in Stoke-on-Trent this morning (7 June).

Fire crews were called to an address in Penkhull just after 1am and they say they found a house "well-alight".

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening at this time.

Fire crews remain at the scene of the fire and are working to establish a cause.

Fire crews are working to establish the cause of the fire (Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service).

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Anyone who was in the area at the time and has information that could help with our enquiries is asked to get in touch.
