Man remanded in custody after sexual assault in Meir

A man in his 30s has been remanded into custody after sexually assaulting a woman in Meir.
Ricky Breward, 34, of no fixed address, has been charged with sexual assault of a female and knowingly/recklessly trespassing on premises with intent to commit a sexual offence.
It follows a report on Monday 19 October of a man entering a property near Weston Road and sexually assaulting a woman just before 5.30pm.
He has also been charged with theft from a person and fraud by false representation, in connection with a separate incident.
Breward appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre earlier today (26 October)and was remanded into custody.
He is due to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 23 November.
