A Stoke-on-Trent man who stalked a teenage girl for a number of months, has pleaded guilty in court.
Sabjan Burkazi, of Tunstall, appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday (9 February).
The 30-year-old admitted engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, stalking involving serious alarm / distress and three counts of making an indecent photograph / pseudo photograph of a child.
Detective Inspector Adam Goodger, from the Staffordshire Police child protection team, said: "I'm pleased we've been able to secure this outcome today and avoid putting the victim through the trial process.
"We're working tirelessly every single day in Staffordshire to support survivors of these offences and to seek the toughest possible punishment in court for those who commit them."
On 18 August last year, Burkazi grabbed the survivor when she was walking down an alleyway in Tunstall.
He tried to pull her in the direction of his home but she fought back.
Burkazi ran off to his home when someone else saw him grabbing the survivor. Officers were then called and went to his address to arrest him.
Staffordshire Police explained that Burkazi had been stalking the survivor for a number of months.
He would go up to her in the street and ask for her phone number and social media, which she would always refuse to give him.
When Staffordshire Police searched his phone, they found indecent images of children on there.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Officers worked hard to gather all of the evidence needed to secure the charges against Burkazi and take him to court."
Burkazi has been remanded ahead of his sentencing date at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 24 February.
