Man arrested and released on bail following firearms deployment in Cheadle

Police were called to High Street, Cheadle, on Sunday afternoon following reports of a man with a firearm (Nub News).
Police were called to High Street, Cheadle, on Sunday afternoon following reports of a man with a firearm (Nub News).

A 69-year-old man, from Cheadle, has been arrested and released on conditional police bail following an incident in the town.

Police went to High Street at 4.20pm on Sunday 17 December following reports of a man with a firearm.

A short time later, officers seized a BB gun and arrested the man on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear/violence.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident and are urging anyone with any information to get in touch.
