A man has been arrested following a collision in Blythe Bridge last night.

Police, paramedics, and fire crews were called to Cheadle Road, Blythe Bridge, just before 6.15pm last night, following a collision involving a black Infiniti and a black Peugeot 207.

Officers quickly found out the Peugeot was stolen and a man from inside had left the scene before they arrived.

A short time later, police arrested a 44-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, on suspicion of drink driving and taking a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

He has since been released on conditional police bail while the investigation continues.
