Man arrested after car stolen at knifepoint in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been arrested after a car was stolen at knifepoint in Stoke-on-Trent.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We got a call just before 8.45pm on Thursday 21 March when a man stole a black MG after threatening the owner with a knife in the Tunstall area.

"We were able to bring the MG to a stop just after 9.30pm and officers seized the knife and a hammer from the car.

"The car has since been returned to its owner.

"The victim was left shaken but not injured.

"A 29-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion robbery and remains in custody."
