A popular country pub in North Staffordshire recently welcomed two new landlords following the retirement of former publican, Paul.

Charlie Bassett's in Dilhorne reopened on 23 January and the local community gathered to welcome new landlords, Jonathan and Alex.

The pair - who have extensive experience working in the hospitality industry - are joined by all staff who worked at the pub previously.

The team say they are excited to "serve homemade food, the finest ales and a range of bar snacks".

The new menu features classics such as lasagna and pies, a range of burgers and children's options as well as a Charlie's Mixed Grill.

The pub has a large beer garden with a children's play area and its own campsite (Nub News).

Landlord, Alex, said: "During the winter months, we will be serving food Wednesday to Saturday, 5pm until 8.30pm, and on a Sunday we'll serve our lunches between 12pm and 5pm.

"During the summer, we will be serving food seven days a week, from 12pm until 9pm. We will also be reopening the outdoor bar and grill for anyone who would prefer to eat in our beer garden."

The pub also has an exciting new range of draught beers including Staropramen, Madri and a brand-new IPA - Alpaca-Lypse.

Alex continued: "We're also in the process of planning a few music festivals for the summer season including Country and Western, Clubland Classics and the VW Club will be returning too.

"In the meantime, we'll be hosting a quiz night every Tuesday beginning on 4 February at 8pm, having a games and poker night on a Wednesday and we're planning to have a disco, karaoke and bingo on weekends very soon".

Externally, the pub has a large beer garden with a children's play area and its own popular campsite, which operates all year round and Alex says "is remaining exactly the same".

Charlie Bassett's at Dilhorne is open 12pm to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 12pm to 12am Friday and Saturday.
