Part of the A50 is currently closed and there is very heavy traffic in both directions following a road traffic collision in Stoke-on-Trent.

There has been a collision between an Audi and a lorry on the eastbound side of the A50 at Normacot.

There is congestion up to the A500 going eastbound and traffic tailing back to Meir Park westbound.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a lorry on the A50 at 3.45pm.

"An ambulance conveying a patient to hospital came across the incident and after assessing there were no serious injuries, continued to convey its original patient.

"A second ambulance was sent to the incident but on arrival discovered there were no patients at the scene and was stood down."
