A new "lively" and "vibrant" late-night venue has opened on the site of a historic Stoke-on-Trent potbank.

Josef and Annmarie Bailey – owners of Quarter at the Potbank – have now launched the Warehouse, also on the Spode site in Stoke.

The venue opened the doors to its first customers on Friday (9 October) for a sold out launch event featuring a live ABBA tribute act.

Josef said: "The difference that we're bringing is the fact that we're in the heart of Stoke town.

He added: "We're bringing something very premium, we're bringing something with variety, and we're bringing something that's completely accessible for the local community and those that travel from outside.

"Hopefully it's a catalyst for other people to see that you can bring something lively, vibrant, entertaining and good value into the city.

"And that's really what we're hoping to do as an extension of the Factory Floor and of what we've always done with the Quarter for the last 10 years."

The official opening of The Warehouse was marked by with a ribbon cutting by Councillor Joan Bell, Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent.

This marks the latest chapter for The Quarter at the Potbank at the Spode site which already has a restaurant, cafe, and the Factory Floor - the Quarter's existing live music and event space.

The owners said that by opening a new late-night venue, they will be able to offer more events including DJ sets, live music, weddings, and private parties.

Josef added that the success of their opening night stems from the loyal following they have built running the Quarter over the past 10 years.

"After 10 years, we have got a very strong following," he added.

"To sell out so quickly was fantastic.

"We know our market and we know the types of acts that sell really well.

"I think hopefully they're coming along to sample what we're doing on our new journey, but also because they're here to support us as well.
