Investigation continues following 'sudden death' of woman in Stoke-on-Trent

Staffordshire Police are continuing to appeal for information following the 'sudden death' of a woman in Stoke-on-Trent this week.

Police and paramedics were called to Sefton Avenue, Sneyd Green, at around 9.30pm on Monday night (18 March).

A woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "The 53-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has since been released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.

A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder but has now been released on conditional bail (Google).

"We are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish the events leading up to the woman's death and would ask people not to speculate about what happened at this stage.

"A referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to recent police contact with the woman.

"We're keen to speak to people who were in the area at the time or those with any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from Monday."
