A new Indian seafood restaurant has opened in Stoke-on-Trent city centre.
The Spice Route Social (TSRS), on Piccadilly in Hanley, opened on Friday 3 July serving a menu of seafood and other Indian dishes.
The restaurant was opened by a group of four friends, Nithish Joseph, Vishnu, Shreedarsh and Chef Shack, who also have plans to open a bar and club space in Hanley.
Nithish explained that they decided to open a seafood restaurant as they felt that there was a shortage of this type of cuisine in the local area.
He said: "What makes us different and special from other Indian restaurants is seafood."
TSRS aims to be a welcoming restaurant tailored to the individual customers' tastes, with tables regularly greeted by Chef Shack to ensure that the food is cooked how they like.
"Right now the chef is coming directly to the guests," Nithish said.
"He speaks to the guest to find out what they're looking for. So, we are customizing a lot."

He added: "There will be some changes to the menu every week and we will be adding a modern touch."
The opening of the restaurant, and soon the club, is a result of the group's enthusiasm to revive the high street.
As well as run the restaurant, they are working on a piece of software - called Worsk - to support local independent businesses like their own to thrive on the high street.
Nithish said: "People have to understand that there are things here [on the high street] so people will come.
"The high street should be always packed. Otherwise, you can't say it's a high street."
The Spice Route Social is now open at 18 Picadilly, Hanley.
