The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an alert about a food supplier in Staffordshire.

All frozen food with Inarah's Frozen Food, Inarah's Fine Food and New York Crispy packaging should be removed from shelves and recalled from customers as they "may be unsafe to eat" according to the FSA.

According to the FSA's risk statement, "Inarah's Frozen Foods Ltd has been unable to demonstrate that the products in this alert have been produced and handled safely.

"Products that have not met food hygiene and safety requirements pose a risk to consumers and may be unsafe to eat.

"The products are known to have been supplied to food businesses across the UK.

"These brands cover a wide range of frozen products including chicken, beef, fish and vegetarian items, packaged in different size packaging with multiple best before dates and/or batch numbers."

The products are labelled with one of the following company names and addresses:

• Inarah Frozen Foods LTD, Regal Drive, Walsall, WS2 9HQ
• Four Seasons Food Group, Unit 7-8 Monarch Works, Elswick Road, Fenton Industrial Estate, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2SH
• KBH Foods, BD9 4TS

Any frozen products with either Inarah's Frozen Foods, Inarah's Fine Foods or New York Crispy labels with an address in the list above is included in the alert.

The FSA added: "Food businesses selling these products in the UK are advised to immediately stop sales, undertake product withdrawals and where there have been retail sales, to undertake product recalls.

"Products should be disposed of safely."

Customers are advised not to eat the products and dispose of them at home.

The company said: "We are asking enforcement authorities to ensure that businesses who have received the affected products take action to ensure that these products are withdrawn from the market and, where there have been retail sales, recalled.

"We are also asking the Local Authorities to inform the FSA of product withdrawal and recall actions."

A Stoke-on-Trent City Council spokesperson said: "We are aware of the Food Alert for Action issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) in relation to findings at Inarah's Frozen Food in Stoke-on-Trent.

"This has come after we alerted the FSA to investigations we carried out, which found the premises was selling frozen food products with illegal labels and with no traceability.

"We have taken firm action already to remove these products from the market and will continue to assist any other businesses in Stoke-on-Trent that may have affected products. We also want to remind residents to check their food at home and to not consume these products."
