Four teenagers arrested following car pursuit in Stoke-on-Trent

Four teenagers have been arrested after Staffordshire Police pursued a suspected stolen car in Stoke-on-Trent.

Staffordshire Police received a report that a Honda had been stolen from outside a home off Dividy Road, Bentilee, at around 7.30am on Sunday (15 February).

The vehicle was located by officers on London Road, Stoke, at around 2.40pm on the same day.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "The vehicle failed to stop for officers before it crashed on Stoke Road.

"Those inside the car tried to make off on foot but were caught and arrested nearby."

Four teenagers, aged 14, 15, 16 and 17 have been arrested.

A 15-year-old boy, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, attempted theft of a motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to stop, going equipped for theft, possession of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and theft of a motor vehicle.

A 17-year-old boy, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, driving a motor vehicle dangerously and three counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

A 16-year-old boy, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to stop, making off without making payment and theft of a motor vehicle.

A 14-year-old boy, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.

They have all been bailed with conditions while Staffordshire Police enquiries continue.

Staffordshire Police are now appealing for anyone with any information that might help the investigation to contact them by calling 101, quoting incident 155 of 15 February, using Live Chat on their website or anonymously calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
