A former pub in Stoke-on-Trent will be demolished after plans were approved by the city council this week.
The Bell and Bear, on Snow Hill in Shelton, first opened in the early 20th century and was once a very popular Potteries pub.
But the building has been vacant for some time, boarded up and subject to vandalism in recent years.
A fresh application was submitted to the council in July 2023 to demolish the building after plans were previously refused because the site is of "high local importance".
There are no proposed redevelopment works to the site at this stage.
A Committee Report, published by the council, states: "The principle of the proposed demolition of the premises at No. 27 and No. 29 is considered acceptable.
"The application site is not located within a conservation area, and neither the former Bell and Bear pub and adjoining premises at No. 29 are listed, nor are there any local designations relating to the historic significance or community value of the premises."
