Firefighters extinguished a wildfire in a Stoke-on-Trent park which was deemed to have been caused "deliberately".
Crews were called at 12.15pm yesterday (Tuesday 21 July) to Park Hall Country Park on Hulme Road following reports of a fire.
The service said five appliances attended the scene and found multiple fires at the same location. The largest area of fire measured approximately 100 metres by 100 metres.
Crews used hose reel jets, wildfire hoses, beaters and rangers to extinguish the fire.
Station Manager Ant Ball, who attended the scene, said: "These fires were deemed to have been caused deliberately.
"We are experiencing high demand across Staffordshire at the moment and deliberate fires significantly strain our resources.
"I would urge parents to speak to young people about the dangers of setting fires and remind people to take care in the countryside.
"People should avoid having barbeques and bonfires, ensure that all litter is put in the bin and not drop cigarettes on the ground."
"Please help us to keep Staffordshire safe this summer."
Staffordshire Police is now appealing for information following the "deliberate" fire.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We are appealing for information following a deliberate wildfire in Stoke-on-Trent.
"We were called at 12.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 21 July) to Park Hall Country Park on Hulme Road following reports of a large fire.
"Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and colleagues from the National Police Air Service (NPAS).
"The fire was extinguished and thankfully nobody was reported injured.
"We are appealing for anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of the area at the time to contact us. Call 101, quoting incident 341 of 21 July, or use Live Chat on our website.
"To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
The latest fire comes after the fire service was also called to tackle multiple fires at Park Hall Country Park on Sunday (19 July).
