Firefighters were called to tackle a blaze at a house in Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue was called at 9.25pm on Monday (12 October) following reports of smoke coming from a house on Richard Dawson Drive in Bucknall.
Five appliances attended the scene alongside an aerial ladder platform, and crews wore breathing apparatus.
Hose reel jets and a main jet were used to tackle the fire, which was on the first floor of the property.
Two men were taken to hospital for precautionary checks after suffering smoke inhalation.
The service said that an investigation into the cause of the fire will take place "in due course".
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are reminding people that our online home fire safety check is available 24/7 and offers tailored safety advice for your home.
"If you qualify, we also offer a home fire safety visit to assess and mitigate any fire risk in the home."
