55-year-old Ozzy Savage sadly passed away on 16 December (Staffordshire Police).

The family of a man who died after a collision in Stoke-on-Trent have paid tribute to him.

Emergency services were called at 1.35pm on the afternoon of Monday 16 December to reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a white Mercedes Sprinter van, at the junction of Bucknall New Road and Bucknall Old Road.

Sadly, the cyclist, 55-year-old Ozzy Savage, previously known as John Walker, was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital but sadly died in hospital on Wednesday 18 December.

The van driver was not injured.

Ozzy's family continue to be supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time.

In a tribute, they said: "Ozzy Savage, formerly known as John Walker, loving father, brother and uncle. He loved the outdoors and nature, he was always about on his push bike and he was always there for friends and family through thick and thin, whenever anyone needed help. We are sad that he has passed but his memory will live on."

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators.
