The family of a 19-year-old man who died at a property in Stoke-on-Trent have paid tribute to him as "the most kindest, genuine soul anyone could ever meet."

Bradley Whieldon, from Abbey Hulton, was pronounced dead at the scene of an incident after police were called to a property on Brookhouse Road in Meir at around 11.45pm on Friday (9 October).

Another man, in his late teens, was seriously injured in the incident.

Staffordshire Police said he remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Paying tribute to Bradley, his family said: "Where do we begin with our Bradders, the most kindest, genuine soul anyone could ever meet.

"The person who'd light up any room they'd walk into and their personality would instantly shine through.

"Your laugh, your wit, your dancing and constant singing and rapping filled our home with pure joy.

"Life will never, ever, be the same without you and our hearts will never be full again.

"A life with such potential taken far too soon.

"Your memory will live on through us all and you will never ever be forgotten.

"All our love, forever, Mum, Dad and family."

Staffordshire Police was granted more time to question four people in connection with the murder investigation on Sunday (11 October).

Two further people have since been arrested, bringing the total number of arrests in the investigation to seven.

They include a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both of Stoke-on-Trent, each arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Both have been bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.

A 17-year-old boy, of Hanley, described as British Asian, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.

He cannot be named because of his age.

The 17-year-old appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday (Tuesday 13 October) where he was remanded to a youth detention centre ahead of another hearing due at Stafford Crown Court today (Wednesday 14 October).

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Detectives are continuing to appeal for information and urge anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam, doorbell, or social media content to submit it via our dedicated portal here: Public Portal."
