Eight people to appear in court charged with driving offences following Staffordshire Police crackdown

Eight people are set to appear in court charged with driving offences following a number of proactive stops made by police across Staffordshire.

They include:

  • Nigel Charles, aged 61, of no fixed address – charged with driving when alcohol above the legal limit and driving without insurance
  • Connor Keeling, aged 27, of Stoke-on-Trent – charged with driving when alcohol above the legal limit
  • Saad Mahmood, aged 23, of Stoke-on-Trent – charged with driving with a proportion of specified drug over the specified limit, driving other than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance
  • Nyasha Makore, aged 29, of Stoke-on-Trent – charged with driving with a proportion of a specified drug over the specified limit
  • Professor Garai Makuvaza, aged 38, of Stoke-on-Trent - charged with driving when alcohol above the legal limit
  • Adam Newton, aged 52, of Stafford - charged with driving when alcohol above the legal limit
  • Danielle Rutter, aged 19, of Newcastle-under-Lyme - charged with driving when alcohol above the legal limit
  • John Teague, aged 37, of Stoke-on-Trent – charged with two counts of driving with a proportion of specified drug over the specified limit, possession of class A drugs, cocaine; possession of class B drugs, cannabis; driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance, obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty.

Staffordshire Police said: "It comes as officers continue to crackdown on driving offences across the county in proactive patrols in order to protect our communities from harm."

They will each appear later today (25 June) at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre.
