A disqualified drink driver was jailed less than 24 hours after being stopped in Stoke-on-Trent.
It comes after officers from the Staffordshire Police road crime team (RCT) stopped a black Vauxhall on Waterloo Road, Stoke-on-Trent at around 11.50pm on Friday 20 February.
They discovered that the driver, 34-year-old Tommy Strachen from Shelton, was disqualified from driving and had no insurance.
Stratchen was breathalysed and blew over the limit.
PC Josh Cann, of the road crime team, said: "Stratchen showed no regard for other road users when he got into a car whilst drunk, disqualified, and with no insurance.
"Despite Stratchen trying to hide the fact that he was disqualified from us, we secured evidence against him which led to him being charged and jailed the next day."
Stratchen was charged and appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Saturday (21 February), where he pleaded guilty to driving when alcohol level above limit, driving whilst disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance.
He was jailed for four months and disqualified from driving for five-years-and-two-months.
