Staffordshire Police has announced that the dispute surrounding changes to the working hours of Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) has been resolved through mutual agreement.

The force said: "Throughout the discussions, both UNISON and the force have remained committed to achieving a fair and sustainable outcome while maintaining the vital role PCSOs play in neighbourhood policing and community engagement."

Both parties have agreed to ongoing engagement to maintain positive employee relations in the future as part of the agreement.

The changes to PCSOs' working hours were instated on 1 June and will not be altered as part of the agreement.

Assistant Chief Officer John Bloomer said: "We are pleased to have reached an agreement with UNISON following positive and constructive discussions.

"PCSOs are a valued part of our policing family, and this outcome reflects our shared commitment to supporting our workforce while ensuring we continue to deliver the highest standard of service to our communities."

Staffordshire Police said: "We would like to thank PCSOs, policing colleagues, stakeholders and members of the public for their patience and understanding during this process.

"The dispute is now formally concluded, and both parties look forward to continuing their collaborative working relationship."
